Letter to the Editor - Bracebridge Examiner - January 14, 2017
Road construction involving regrading, widening, and repaving, all whilst the highway must remain open to the travelling public, is a tall order. Impatience and frustration for extended time delays is a normal occurrence, and that is not surprising. Rarely does the public take into account the twisting, winding, and hilly terrain with rock outcropping obstacles, private driveway entrances and exits, and weather conditions that make the task, like the Peninsula Road reconstruction, a challenge for the contractor and staff.
But under the excellent direction of Scott Clayton, Superintendent of District Roads, and the Muskoka experience of Fowler Construction, aided and abetted by courteous and dedicated staff and flag guides, work on the 3.7 km highway section between Port Sandfield and Halls Road was carried out efficiently and with limited inconvenience. And, the contract was completed on time.
The Muskoka Ratepayers’ Association wishes to congratulate all involved for their sensitivity, their professionalism, and their dedication to providing excellent service to maintain and improve our network of roads throughout the township.
